Genus Ammotrechesta Roewer 1934

Ammotrechesta Roewer, 1934: 599; Muma, 1970a: 52; Muma, 1976: 27; Armas 1993: 43.

Diagnosis:

Roewer (1934) characterized the genus as follows:

[Ammotrechinae whose 2nd and 3 Tarsus each bear 1.2.2.2.1 ventral spines and whose 4th tarsus bears 2.2/2/2.1 ventral spines(Fig. 335, e, h). Immovable finger of chelicerae with 2 anterior teeth in front of the median tooth and movable finger with 1 medial cheek tooth next to the main tooth (Fig. 339, b).]

Armas (1993) rediagnosed the genus, noting the presence of an additional tarsal segment in each tarsus:

[Tarsus of legs II and III with two segments (the distal is very small); ventral spines arranged 1.2.2/2.1 (Fig. 4). Tarsus of leg IV with four segments (the distal is very small); ventral spines arranged 2.2/2/2/1 (Fig. 2). Chelicerae with two anterior teeth on the fixed finger; movable finger with a basal internal tooth.]
